An Oral History Project Conducted by John Robert Lewis Scholar Alexis Dorman

Project Description

My oral history project looks at the lives of six generations of Americans, and how their experiences, education, and community have influenced their outlook on the American Dream. While the primary focus of my project is the American Dream, my project also tells a story of how the generational perspectives of a family can tell a broader story of the family’s history. All eight interviewees are changemakers in their community, passionate about education, and hopeful for a future where everyone has the right to pursue their own American Dream.
