Sanders Adu
Sanders Adu is a senior government relations professional at Wells Fargo. He specializes in consumer retail banking issues, as well as payments, technology, fintech, cybersecurity, housing and digital assets. In addition, Sanders serves on Wells Fargo’s Public Affairs External Engagement team where he manages key third party relationships with national policy stakeholders. Sanders previously served as Co-Chair of the Public Affairs Inclusion & Opportunity Council.
Previously, Sanders served as senior counsel to Congressman Mel Watt (D-NC) on the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, where he was the staff lead for the Domestic Monetary Policy and Oversight & Investigations Subcommittees, and worked on the landmark Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection legislation.
Before Capitol Hill, Sanders was a lawyer in private practice focusing on complex commercial litigation and white collar criminal law. Sanders received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University, and his Juris Doctor from the University of California-Berkeley School of Law. Sanders is the past President for Duke Black Alumni and is Co-Chair Emeritus for the Black Alumni Collective (BAC), a national consortium of Black alumni leaders from all over the United States and around the world.
