Join us in celebrating the swearing in of Cohort 1 JRL Fellow Arielle Hudson-Vinson as an attorney in the state of Georgia and the beginning of her career as a Civil Rights attorney at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) 🎉
Congratulations Arielle, your FPI family is so proud!
“Today, I was duly sworn in as an attorney in the State of Georgia and became a part of the 5% of attorneys who are Black and the 2% who are Black women!
I am also honored to share that I will begin my career as a civil rights attorney as an LDF Marshall-Motley Fellow with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
For more than 50 years, the SPLC has stood on the front lines of the fight for racial justice in the Deep South — confronting white supremacy, challenging discriminatory systems, and advocating fiercely for Black communities and other marginalized groups.
As someone shaped by the history and realities of being Black in the Deep South, this work is deeply personal to me. I am ready to continue the fight for racial justice for Black people in the South and to help carry forward the work of those who came before us.
