Alaina Ruffin is the paralegal for the Human Rights Program at the American Civil Liberties Union. Alaina graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University, earning an honors B.A. in English Writing & Rhetoric. Through past experiences at the ACLU of Virginia, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Alaina has supported policy and advocacy efforts for racial justice and criminal legal reform on local, state, and federal levels. In November 2025, Alaina served as a fellow for the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Fellowship Programme for People of African Descent.
