Cheryl Johnson was named by Speaker Nancy Pelosi as the 36th Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives. Previously Ms. Johnson served as the Director of Government Relations, Smithsonian Institution. Previously, Ms. Johnson served as chief of staff to Lonnie Bunch, the founding director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Before joining the Smithsonian, Ms. Johnson was the chief education and investigative counsel for the Committee on Education and the Workforce in the U.S. House of Representatives.
