
Tom Greggs

Professor Tom Greggs, FRSE, is the Director of the Center of Theological Inquiry, Princeton. Having graduated in Theology with the top first-class honours in his year from the University of Oxford, Tom completed a PhD without corrections at the University of Cambridge in three years. He also holds a DLitt operis causa for outstanding research contributions to humane learning. Having served as the youngest ever full professor at the University of Chester, Tom held the Marischal (1616) Chair and served as Head of Divinity at the University of Aberdeen, leading Aberdeen to become the top-rated research school in Theology and Religious Studies. Tom’s principal research interest is how to conceive of Christian faith and Theology outside of the conditions of Christendom and homogeneity. Tom is author of over a dozen books, including Dogmatic Ecclesiology, The Church in a World of Religions, and (with a Jewish and Muslim scholar), Scriptural Reasoning: Abrahamic Inter-faith Practice, Saving Systematic Theology (forthcoming), and Introduction to Christian Theology: A Comprehensive, Systematic and Biblically Based Approach (forthcoming). A Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Tom serves on the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches, and is a much sought after preacher and lecturer.
