About the Alumni Network

The John Robert Lewis Scholars, Fellows, and Leaders Alumni Network fosters a lifelong connection among alumni and the global community at-large through mentorship, entrepreneurship, networking, research collaborations, community outreach, and financial support. By nurturing its commitment to carry on the vision of Congressman John Lewis to fulfill his mandate that “we all have roles to play”, this network is made up of the next generation of leaders who will implement the principles of nonviolence to make meaningful change.

Alumni Network Committees

    • Organizes annual Washington DC meeting

    • Plans and conducts a group service project

    • Gives out an honorary award each year

    • Conducts informational webinars about the JRL program

    • Sends campus ambassadors to schools to promote the JRL program

    • Plans social media outreach to spread awareness of the JRL program

    • Provides mentorship and networking opportunities during the alumni weekend

    • Offers virtual mentorship sessions throughout the year

    • Provides advice to current Scholars, Fellows & Leaders to support their oral history projects

    • Maintains records of alumni information for the database

    • Ensures all oral history projects are added to the archive

    • Provides information and advice for Scholars, Fellows & Leaders seeking help with alumni database or archival issues
