JRL Program Bio: Ivan Quintana was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico and immigrated to the United States in search of opportunities. As a first-generation college graduate from Arizona State University (ASU) and Mesa Community College (MCC). At ASU he double majored in Public Service and Public Policy and Criminology and Criminal Justice. As an AmeriCorps alum and current TRiO Program Specialist, Ivan has endeavored to increase college access and completion for all Arizona students. Last year, he was appointed as a student representative for the LatinX Advisory Council for the Arizona Department of Education. In his spare time, he enjoys podcasts, cooking, hiking, and spending time with loved ones.
