Occupation: Predoctoral Research Fellow at the Poverty and Inequality Research Lab at Johns Hopkins University & Marshall Scholar at the University of Oxford.

Career Goals/Interests: Eviction, homelessness, Evidence-Based Social Intervention, and Policy Evaluation

JRL Program Bio: Matt Gannon is a senior at Dartmouth College, where he researches how collaborative filmmaking can reduce the stigmatization of people experiencing homelessness and people who have been incarcerated. In his multimedia work at the ACLU of Maryland and Street Sense Media, he has focused his advocacy on repealing unjust prison policies, reforming racist police practices, and ending the criminalization of homelessness. Over the course of the John Robert Lewis Scholars & Fellows program, he is excited to learn more about the late Congressman John Lewis’ nonviolent philosophy and to learn from dedicated changemakers from across the country.
