JRL Program Bio: Batool Ibrahim is a senior Political Science and Global Studies major attending University
of Nebraska- Lincoln. She was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, calls Sudan home. Batool is the first Black Student Body President/Student Regent and uses this role to create equitable educational and health policies. As a student activist, her intersectional approach to combat racial injustice and disparities led to the founding of “BSU Care Bags”, an initiative aimed to lower the death rate among Black, and Brown communities by supplying them with basic health needs. Batool is an aspiring civil rights lawyer dedicated to creating an equitable democracy.
