JRL Program Bio: Travis Waters, Jr. is a first-generation college student at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Originally from Orlando, Florida, he is currently in his third year studying Political Science with a minor in Environment & Society, striving towards his lifelong goal of becoming an environmental lawyer. Travis is passionate about combating environmental injustices and advancing voting rights on behalf of the Black community. His passion for service and liberation has led him to the Democratic National Committee as a Presidential Fellow, the Campus Election Engagement Project where he successfully expanded voter accessibility for thousands of Florida State students, and a Congressional internship through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
