JRL Program Bio: Nakia was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where she had the honor of interning for Congressman John Lewis. After graduating, she worked for a federal agency, an international law firm, and the U.S. House of Representatives before pursuing her law degree. Nakia is in her third year as a W.E.B. DuBois Fellow at West Virginia University College of Law in Morgantown, West Virginia.
