JRL Program Bio: As Director of Microsoft’s Justice Reform Initiative, Kevin Miller leads strategy and execution for the company’s efforts to improve fairness and equity in the criminal legal system, focusing in the areas of policing, prosecution, and prevention. Kevin has held several roles in the social impact space at Microsoft touching civic technology, community engagement, and nonprofit digital transformation prior to joining the Justice Reform Initiative. Before joining Microsoft, he held various roles at the intersection of technology and public policy including time as the head of data analytics at City of San Jose and as a CountyStat analyst and program evaluation lead in Montgomery County, Maryland’s Health and Human Services division. Kevin holds a BA in political science from UC Berkeley and a Masters of Public Policy from American University in Washington, DC.
