JRL Program Bio: Marcus Washington was born in Houston, TX. A student athlete at Lamar University, Beaumont, TX. Graduating from Lamar with a Bachelor’s degree in general studies, focused on construction management. A strong interest in construction, Marcus pursued a career with the Fluor Corporation in 2016. Working as a HSE professional in the Urban Solutions business line group. Marcus has worked on and been involved with historical projects such as the Tappan Zee (Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge), the longest bridge in New York, and the largest Chicago Transit Authority project, the RPM (Red Line Purple Line Modernization). In his free time, Marcus enjoys spending time with family and attending professional sporting events.
